President John Magufuli has re-appointed Ruangwa MP Kassim Majaliwa as Prime Minister of Tanzania.
The name of Majaliwa was read today Thursday, November 12, 2020 in parliament in Dodoma by Speaker Job Ndugai for approval by the State body.
The appointment enables Majaliwa to continue in the position he held from 2015 to November 5, 2020, which ended immediately after President Magufuli was sworn in as head of state at the Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma.
As soon as the president’s entourage entered parliament with an envelope with the name on it and handed it to Ndugai, he began reading it and mentioning Majaliwa’s name causing the MPs to explode with joy.
The MPs got up from their seats and followed Majaliwa, who was sitting in the back seat of the parliament, and began congratulating her as they sang and clapped.
Speaker Ndugai asked Majaliwa, who was sitting in the back seat, to sit in the front seat. Majaliwa did so while continuing to be praised by MPs
