Simiyu Regional Administrative Secretary Wants Development Projects Completed On Time

The timely completion of various development projects will facilitate the delivery of services to citizens.This was stated by Simiyu Regional Administrative Secretary Ms. Miriam Mmbaga during a visit to some of Busega District Health projects on September 9, 2020, where Ms.Mmbaga was accompanied by the Regional Health Care Management Team (RHMT).
During the visit, Mmbaga visited Busega District Hospital where he witnessed the ongoing construction of the 122-meter Walk Ways at a cost of more than TZS 66.9 Million, and the construction of a Theater building (Surgery) and Maternity worth more than TZS 194.3 Million.Mmbaga also visited the construction of the Lukungu Health Center surgery building, an AMREF-funded construction at a cost of TZS 142 Million, and stressed the timely completion of the building to start providing surgical services at the center.
On the other hand, Mmbaga commended the Office of the Executive Director of Busega District Council for being at the forefront of infrastructure construction projects at Busega District Hospital for donating funds from local revenue and called on the Executive Director of Busega District Council. Bw.Anderson Njiginya Kabuko to continue the process by increasing the amount of donations. I thank the Director for being a priority in the projects as he has been able to contribute to the ongoing construction and I want him to increase the contribution further and I congratulate him very much, added Ms. Mmbaga.
In addition, the Executive Director of Busega District Council, Anderson Njiginya Kabuko has assured the Regional Administrative Secretary that his Office will continue to contribute funds so that the projects are completed and start providing services on time.
On the other hand, Mmbaga urged donors and development partners to complete the projects they are funding on time as many projects have been progressing slowly. We know and recognize the contribution of health sector stakeholders in our region but we ask that they have a good system for financing various projects to be completed on time, added Ms. Mmbaga.
Mmbaga also called on staff to work together to achieve better services to the people. Employees need to work together to achieve the goals of service delivery, use the gifts we have been given in the work, added Mmbaga. On the other hand, Mmbaga congratulated the Acting Busega District Civil Engineer, Engineer. Paul Tumbu for his hard work and diligence in various construction projects in Busega District while instructing the Executive Director of Busega District Council to follow up on the confirmation of his position to become the Head of the Construction Department.
Initially the Deputy Regional Chief Physician Dr. Khamis Kulemba called on the health department staff to continue to work effectively, and commended the Busega District Health Care Management Team (CHMT) for the good work they are doing.
During the visit, Mmbaga also visited the Nyakurunduma Irrigation Union (UWANYA) and called on agricultural experts from Busega District Council to work with the group and others to provide operational and production education. Mmbaga also urged irrigated agriculture groups to make better use of Lake Victoria’s resources.
