Police have arrested seven foreign nationals for cybercrime. The suspects, nationals of Nigeria, Liberia, DRC, India and South Africa, aged between 28 and 44, were arrested between August and September this year.
Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander SACP Lazaro Mambosasa, said the suspects had confessed to receiving 10 million shillings (Tsh 10,000,000 / =) illegally, and used the money to open a liquor store, buy a MARK II car, two TVs and mattresses.
In addition, Mambosasa said they are on the hunt for Tanzanians who have collaborated with the criminals.And urge all foreigners entering our country to follow the existing laws.
All the suspects are still being held by police and are expected to appear in court soon.
